The test said WHAT?
Whether a pregnancy test is cheap or expensive you will not believe what it says. So you will go buy another...and probably another...and ya...another...until you have a bouquet of pee sticks saying, "hey stupid! ya, your pregnant!" The feeling of an outer body experience of a non expecting, expecting woman is hammering (I should say girl cause lets face it that's what I was. The question of if I still am is to be debated later). If your wondering "Well you said you didn't expect it. So how did you know to take the test?" Well as fate would have it, and yes it was just that, I got that most wonderful cherished time of the month on my 21st birthday. A little ironic, I know. So I knew exactly when to expect my next. And as a side note, don't dread your time of month, CHERISH it! Theres a chance you could be begging for it to make an appearance. So when I got to the 7th missed day, I took the dreaded trip to the store. I was overly nonchalant out of sheer embarrassment of what I was buying. Well honestly I made my friend do it, only confirming that I was a girl, not a woman. I ignored all of the recommendations for the best results and chugged a Gatorade and went for it. I didn't even wait to set it down before I looked at it. The test was blurry but within the pink blur there was a definite plus. I read the box just to make sure I was clear about what that famous plus sign meant. The box read " we are dedicated to making cheap pregnancy test to ensure that you will buy an obsessive amount of our product. our product features a blurry pink blob that is sure to make you crazy due to the lack of clarity of a yes your knocked up or a no, your not pregnant you just ate to much mexican food." obviously that's not what it said but that's what it should have said. After taking both tests in the box I felt myself saying no, that blurry bullshit is not enough. If I am going to have to tell my parents I need a clear, YES YOUR PREGNANT! And if I am going to tell the father...I need a very expensive test.
A childs view of how it should be
I always found myself thinking of how old I would be when I got married and had children. As a little girl I remember thinking that at the age of 20 you were supposed to be married and thinking of children soon after. Little did I know, that is not the norm for people now a days. Now people have careers and other crap that they use to put off settling down, acting as if it is a disease or death sentence that one should want to avoid for as long as possible. As a doctor would say to a fading patient, "you have a month to live"... that is the feeling commonly felt of marriage. Crappy to grow up and realize that marriage isn't so romantic anymore. Not knowing just how much my misconception was spot on for me, I became pregnant at 21.
